Surrey is a city in British Columbia within the Metro Vancouver regional district and metropolitan area. It is a suburban city with the 2nd largest population in British Columbia. There are seven neighbourhoods in Surrey; Fleetwood, Whalley, City Centre, Guildford, Newton, Cloverdale and South Surrey.
Surrey has a population of 517,887. It is the 12th largest city in Canada. Immigration has drastically increased in the area since the 1980s, this has led to an ethnically and linguistically diverse city.
